Dear Alumni Member,
The Turtle Days Committee has chosen as our theme for 2008 Turtle Days Parade, “Past, Present and Future.” The center of this theme is of the Smith Green Community Schools.
We would like to extend an invitation to all graduating classes to enter a float for the parade representing the year that they graduated. This could be a float of possibly something special that happened that year at school or something that happened in the world. There will not be a mandatory entry fee, but any class that wants to enter the float contest; there will be a $25.00 entry fee. The winning pay out will be as follows: 1st place 40%, 2nd place 20% and 3rd place 10 %. The remaining 30% will go to the Turtle Day fund that will be supporting such things as the new Turtle Days Scholarship that will be awarded in May of 2009, the Town Park and to make certain we can continue with the Turtle Days tradition.
The exciting part of this will be not only for you to see members from your graduating class but from other classes as well. Please join us in a great day of fun and entertainment and most of all our former class members!
