PARADE RULES
(Highlight text to print rules.)

The Turtle Days Parade theme is “PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE”.  We are applying a new rule this year; all parade entries must be decorated.  This includes all vehicles, floats and trailers.  Exceptions are classic vehicles, radio stations and emergency vehicles.  All walking and animal groups must have a sign or a banner to let us know who they are.  Extra points will be given for using the theme “PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE”.  Please have fun with this, get your group together and make a great entry.  You can win a prize and make our parade even more fun to watch! We are also re-grouping and adding to our categories this year.  Please pay close attention to the following list and include the correct category on your entry form.  This will help us to better judge contestants.  Any entry form without a mailing address will be disqualified from judging.

CATEGORIES:
1. Animals; this group is for horse and pony and/or any other animals
2. Marching bands
3. Walking units; any group or individual
4. Floats
5. Color guards
6. Youth league
7. Cars/trucks/bikes
8. Tractors

RULES:

Please bring along a trash bag to dispose of any trash that you and your group may accumulate.  Littering of any kind during staging or on parade route is forbidden.  Parade officials along route will be monitoring this.  Anyone caught littering will be removed from the parade immediately and will not be welcomed back.
2. Please do not throw any items from your entries.  If you choose to hand out things such as flyers, candy, etc. please do so by handing these items directly to spectators.  Police strictly enforce this rule.  Violation will result in removal from the parade and you and your group will not be welcomed back.
3. Stopping along parade route to perform will not be permitted.  Parade entries may only stop at the judges stand to perform.  There is a maximum of four minutes for each performing group.
4. Rain or shine the parade will go on.  In case of sever weather, the police will advise.
5. Awards will be announced at the entertainment tent at 9:45pm however, actual prizes will be mailed.
